Overview: Hikma Pharmaceuticals is seeking an Analyst/Associate to join the Hikma Ventures team based in Amman, Jordan.

Hikma Ventures is the strategic VC arm of Hikma Pharmaceuticals that invests in global digital health and life sciences startups to enhance Hikma Pharmaceuticals’ offerings and differentiate our products.

As we continue to grow, we are looking for an Analyst/Associate to help us source, evaluate, and recommend investments in digital health and biotechnology opportunities. The ideal candidate will have a scientific background, robust analytical skills, and a passion for identifying innovative investment opportunities through comprehensive due diligence.

Responsibilities:

  • Support senior team members in screening deals and evaluating opportunities.
  • Review business plans, conduct due diligence, research industries and competitors, build financial models, and prepare investment memorandums.
  • Manage projects and coordinate with internal and external teams.
  • Develop expertise in relevant market segments and technologies.
  • Stay informed on pharma and life sciences VC trends.
  • Attend conferences and outreach events globally targeting the venture ecosystem.
  • Prepare internal investment memos and quarterly board reports.
  • Collaborate with global teams (legal, R&D, BD, marketing) to assess and evaluate potential investments.
  • Support senior team members in leading deal processes, including pitching opportunities and negotiating terms.
  • Build relationships within the venture ecosystem and maintain engagement with colleagues across departments.
  • Monitor financial and operational conditions of portfolio companies.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, Life Sciences, or a related field.
  • 2-4 years of relevant experience (e.g., drug development, life sciences consulting, biomedical research, business development, healthcare innovation sector).
  • Strong interest in science, drug development, and emerging healthcare/biotechnology technologies.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and make informed decisions.
  • High degree of intellectual curiosity and a global perspective.
  • Strong communication skills, including presentation and writing abilities.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively and as part of a team.
