We are looking for a talented Manager, Finance – Germany to join us. Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of various monthly financial management reports (Including Group reporting of IFRS packs, OM&A packs, MD&A packs and ad hoc reports).
  • Review monthly reconciliation of general ledger accounts with sub-ledgers and detailed listings.
  • Effectively managing the AR & AP cycles in conjunction with AR & AP CoE.
  • Review and approve month-end journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations, to ensure accuracy and high-quality results.
  • Provide analysis and respond to queries from business units on the financial results
  • Assist in the preparation of annual budget and quarterly forecasts.
  • Ensure compliance with minimum set of standard financial controls.
  • Review current procedures and processes for improvement opportunities. Provide recommendation and develop related solutions such as automation opportunities for manual processes.
  • Manage team members by assigning and prioritizing their daily tasks.
  • Coach and mentor team members, providing training and development opportunities. Provide feedback on staff performance and offer support when required.
  • Prepare statutory financial statements in coordination with 3rd Party.
  • Coordinate and work with external auditors, financial compliance, banks and other officials as necessary.
  • Coordinate with internal tax team to prepare statutory tax returns.
  • Complete ad hoc requests and special projects as they arise.
  • Support and help with other tasks assigned by the Finance Directors/CFOs.

 

Qualifications:

 

We are looking for candidates whose experience and skills align closely with the qualifications outlined below:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Accounting/Finance or similar field.
  • Fluent in English; intermediate proficiency in German.
  • Strong technical accounting background with thorough knowledge of IFRS.
  • Must have strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Strong interpersonal (verbal and written) communication skills

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPA, CA, ACCA

 

 Experience

 

  • Minimum of 7~10 years’ experience in public accounting and/or private industry is required.
  • Experience managing teams and working in cross-functional environments.
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting.

Experience working in a life science company is preferred.

 

Skills

 

  • Analytical skills, decision making capabilities and an understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Strong and practical internal control knowledge and comprehension, including financial control and business understanding.
  • Demonstrates expertise in financial accounting, compliance, risk management, internal control, auditing, risk analysis, business process and/or information system dependency and risk evaluation.
  • Demonstrates ability for strong management, organization, communications, analytic, presentation skills and an effective cross-functional communicator.
  • Prior large-scale project management experience, including external and internal auditors
  • High level of attention to detail.
  • High level of comfort presenting to senior management.
  • Prior ability to analyse regulatory and compliance requirements.
  • Interpersonal skills and ability to develop mutually beneficial, positive relationships to successfully interact in team environment.
  • Ability to influence without authority.
  • Demonstrates understanding of the importance of business ethics, integrity and trust.
  • Proven ability to effectively function under pressure
