Title:  Engineer, HSE

Accountabilities

  • Participates in the development and implementation of Health and Safety policies, processes and procedures to ensure all relevant procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled.
  • Supervises and reviews the day-to-day activities and work to ensure that all work within a specific area is carried out in an efficient manner and in compliance with the set policies, processes and procedures.
  • Contributes to the preparation of the EHS budget to ensure alignment with the approved set budget.
  • Carries out EHS audits and inspections and evaluates potential EHS risks within Hikma to ensure that operations are running safely.
  • Interacts with external parties such as local authorities and civil defense to ensure compliance with local health and safety standards and regulations.
  • Encourages a EHS awareness and culture throughout Hikma by providing recommendations to department heads , training Hikma employees and meeting regularly with teams.
  • Support the emergency response plan during the incident and the accident investigation afterwards to prevent recurrence.
  • Complies with all EHS procedures to ensure a healthy and safe work environment.
  • Ensure that EHS daily tours, weekly inspections and monthly audit for all facilities are done periodically and share the findings with the concerned departments.
  • Ensure the effectiveness of Hikma Jordan emergency plan by conducting emergency drills periodically.
  • Conduct comprehensive industrial hygiene assessments, including air sampling, noise monitoring, chemical exposure evaluation analysis to identify potential occupational hazards and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Develop and implement industrial hygiene control measures, including engineering solutions, administrative controls, and personal protective equipment (PPE) programs.

Required Qualifications

  • BSc. in Engineering , EHS or relevant IRCA, NEBOSH or OSHA Certification or equivalent.
  • OHS Ministry of labor Accreditation.
