Description:

We are committed to building a diverse and inclusive team and encourage applications from candidates of all backgrounds.  We are seeking a talented and motivated Manager, Payroll to join our team. In this role you will be responsible overseeing all U.S. centralized payroll operations for Hikma Pharmaceuticals USA Inc. (Hikma), supporting 2,000+ U.S. employees across multiple states. This role ensures accurate and timely payroll processing, oversees payroll compliance, maintains critical People/payroll data, and delivers a highquality employee experience. The Manager serves as both a handson processing expert and a strategic leader, acting as the primary subject matter expert for UKG Pro, UKG Pro Workforce Management, and PlanSource.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage all bi weekly U.S. payroll processing in UKG Pro, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery.
  • Oversee time & attendance operations in UKG Pro Workforce Management, including audits, overtime rules, and timecard corrections.
  • Conduct payroll audits, reconciliations, and approvals; resolve complex payroll issues and serve as the primary escalation point.
  • Manage payroll tax requirements and UKG Tax & Payment Services updates, including jurisdiction setup, agency communication, and review of quarterly/annual filings.
  • Partner with HRIS, Accounting, Benefits, and Total Rewards to support compensation changes, integrations, and cross functional processes.  Including data feeds from SAP to UKG.
  • Maintain accurate employee payroll data, system configurations, and file feeds (including PlanSource).
  • Prepare required regulatory and compliance reporting (W 2, 1095 C, EEO 1, CA Pay Data, AAP, VETS, etc.).
  • Oversee a case management system for Payroll and related questions and inquiries.
  • Support payroll related audits and provide documentation, building and running required reports for internal and external stakeholders and auditors.
  • Drive process improvements, strengthen audit controls, and optimize payroll workflows, implementing basic AI and robots to gain efficiencies in process.
  • Provide payroll training and guidance to People teams, managers, and employees.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for complex payroll matters across the organization.

 

 

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily:

  • 10+ years of progressive payroll experience, including multi-state payroll management supporting 1,000+ employees.
  • Deep knowledge of payroll laws, taxation, wage & hour rules, garnishments, wage levies, and benefit deductions.
  • Strong understanding of payroll reporting, audits, and payroll accounting principles.
  • Experience with SaaS payroll systems and advanced reporting (UKG BI, Cognos, or similar).
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fastpaced environment while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources/Human Capital, Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field.
  • Advanced experience with UKG Pro and UKG Pro Workforce Management (minimum 3 years).
  • Strong communication and customer-service orientation.
  • High attention to detail and quality control.
  • Ability to interpret payroll regulations and apply them accurately.
  • Collaborative working style with cross-functional partners.
  • Ability to lead, train, and influence others effectively.
  • Strong project management capabilities.
  • Basic understanding of AI for streamlining workflows related to Payroll and employee data.

 

Compensation:

Base Salary: $66,600 to $133,750 annually.  The compensation for this position will be determined during the interview process and will vary based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, work location, prior experience and job-related knowledge, relevant skills and expertise, current business needs, and market factors.
