Description:

We continue to be committed to building a diverse and inclusive team and encourage applications from candidates of all backgrounds. We are seeking a talented and motivated Summer 2026 Intern for our Microbiology department.

Roles and responsibilities:

• Prepare in-house media
  • Sterilize all media in autoclave
  • Calibrate all equipment used in media prep (Dispensers, Balance, pH meter)
  • Rack glassware in dishwasher and unload dishwasher when cycle is complete
• Get supplies from the warehouse and stock all labs
• Sterilize equipment used for microbiological testing in an autoclave
• Prepare glass tubes for depyrogenation
• Perform media QC testing – growth promotion, sterility confirmation and pH testing
• Perform Gram stains for microbiological identification
• Review temperature monitoring charts for microbiology equipment
• Document test data clearly and accurately.  Maintain data integrity and ensure compliance with       
• company policies, procedures, cGMPs, and regulatory requirements.
• Observe microbiological test method validation for sterility, bioburden and bacterial endotoxins testing

Qualification/Requirements (i.e., education, technical skills):

The qualified candidate will currently be working on a BS/BA Degree in Microbiology or Biology.  The qualified candidate must have an understanding of laboratory instruments and methods.  Microbiology coursework and hands-on microbiology laboratory work including aseptic technique is preferred.

Compensation:

Hourly Rate: $18.00 per hour. The compensation for this position will be determined during the interview process and will vary based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, work location, prior experience and job-related knowledge, relevant skills and expertise, current business needs, and market factors.
