Description:

We are committed to building a diverse and inclusive team and encourage applications from candidates of all backgrounds.  Hikma Pharmaceuticals is currently seeking a talented College Intern to join the Environmental, Health & Safety team in its Columbus, Ohio, Site. As an Intern, you will earn practical experience as a fully integrated member of our team and participate in meaningful projects that will add value to our organization. In this role, you will support the EH&S Department of a pharmaceutical manufacturing/packaging site learning relevant activities exclusive to the Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental arena.

Internship will commence in May and end no later than August.
 

Responsibilities:

• Sound level mapping as part of a comprehensive Hearing Conservation Program.
• Combustible dust data request, collection, compilation and archiving. 
• Employee exposure assessment.
• Emergency Action Plan preparations.
• Confined Space inventory.
• Other activities as assigned (i.e., employee engagement and partnership).

Qualifications:

• Completed two years of college course work toward a degree in industrial hygiene, environmental, health and safety, occupational health, and/or toxicology.
• Desired competencies include strong communication skills, taking initiative, detail oriented, and good teammate.
• Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including respiratory protection.
• Must be an Undergraduate, Graduate, or Professional Student in good academic standing.
• Must have completed 12 credit hours within a related major and/or other related coursework.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Highly motivated and inquisitive with a strong desire to learn.
• Organization skills to manage multiple tasks with strong attention to details.
• Planning and Organizational skills.
• Proficient usage of Microsoft Office applications.
• A positive, self-starting, can-do attitude, and a willingness to jump in to support the team.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to communicate in a clear and persuasive manner, and attention to detail.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction, no sponsorship offered at this time.
• Must be willing to submit to a background investigation, including verification of your past employment, criminal history, and educational background.
• Must be willing to take a drug test.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
