Job Title: Quality Lab Technician

The purpose of this role is to provide active physical technical and organizational support to ensure the smooth operation of the quality chemistry lab.

 

  • Performs duties in support of the day-to-day functions of the QC Chemistry Laboratory, including, but not limited to basic use of balances, pH meters and other wet chemistry techniques.   
  • Responsible for glassware cleaning and general lab cleanliness.
  • Responsible for the management and offsite storage of laboratory notebooks and file folders
  • Interfaces with laboratory information management systems to enter data as required
  • Performs other related duties and responsibilities as assigned by a lab supervisor/manager. Responsible for completion of work as assigned.
  • Accurately and clearly documents inspection and test results in accordance to department and site SOPs.
  • Stores lab supplies and reagents and conducts physical inventories.
  • Perform equipment maintenance as required.
  • Accurately organizes notebooks and file folders. Prepares appropriate documentation for offsite storage.
  • Interact with scientists in lab to ensure scientist needs are accommodated.
  • Interact with supervisors (shared resource for 2) to determine day-to-day responsibilities.
  • Interact with management team supervisors + manager + Sr. Leadership (as appropriate) to discuss concerns and suggestions for improvement.

 

Associates degree in chemistry with 0-2 years experience or Associates degree in chemistry with 0-2 years experience, actively seeking or intending to seek a four-year degree.

  • Possess basic mathematical skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) and can use a calculator.
  • Demonstrates good attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good organizational skills and ability to multi-task and perform work in a timely manner.
  • Demonstrates ability to work in a team environment with good communication skills and ability to communicate effectively with peers, department management and production personnel.
  • Knowledge of computer systems at a level proficient to navigate input and/or reference computerized data.
  • Must have sound judgment and basic analytical skills to enable assessment of risk to issues related to monitoring of the manufacturing floor.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Walk or move about safely in a plant environment.
  • Ability to lift 40 lbs.
  • Ability to manipulate repetitively syringes, vials, stoppers, or other medical devices.
