Description:

We are committed to building a diverse and inclusive team and encourage applications from candidates of all backgrounds.  We are seeking a talented and motivated Coordinator, Export Transportation to join our team.  In this role, you will be responsible to be the point of contact between external customers, suppliers, and transportation companies to ensure an efficient operational service and scheduling is provided. Coordinate all tasks associated with processing export finished goods shipments to international customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Regular and predictable onsite attendance and punctuality.
  • Processes domestic, international & hazardous shipments in accordance with standard operating procedures and International Air Transportation Association (IATA), Resource Conservation and Recovery Act & Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
  • Manage the export process from start to finish with the freight transportation service and CHB.
  • Complete documentation to ship international finished goods and hazardous material.  Ensures trucks are loaded with correct goods, selects a carrier to provide best cost-effective transportation service and departure of shipments in timely manner to effect on-time delivery.
  • Prepare and determine Schedule B Classification for all export items and ensuring proper classification guidelines are met. 
  • Verify import/export documentation and ensure that all proper documentation is accurate, complete, sent to broker and is on file.
  • Provide transportation companies with the relevant information to ensure customer delivery requirements are met.
  • Facilitate domestic scheduling of inbound LTL, FTL, LCL & FCL freight, monitoring truck arrivals to shipping dock
  • Assign and handle inbound appointment shipment schedules from vendors from all sites.
  • Other Duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum:    
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • Ability to obtain and maintain the following certifications:
  • RCRA - Hazardous Waste Generator Requirement Training
  • IATA - International Air Transport Authority Shipping Training
  • DOT - Shipping of Hazardous Materials

EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum:    
  • 1-2 years’ experience in Transportation, Customs, Supply Chain Logistics, or similar discipline is preferred.
  • One to two years’ experience in processing transactions in SAP or similar ERP Systems

SKILLS

  • Excellent communication skills effectively communicating with all departments within the organization
  • Must be able to communicate effectively, in oral and written form, with peers, superiors and both internal and external customers
  • Proficiency in Word and Excel
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills, including ability to recognize a problem, ability to apply quick fix and communicate with management on status of the problem
