Title:  Electrical Technician

Policies, Processes & Procedures

  • Follows all relevant departmental policies, processes, standard operating procedures, and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner 

Day- to-day operations

  • Follows the day-to-day operations related to own job to ensure continuity of work

Job Specific Accountabilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, including wiring, lighting, control systems, connectors, and circuit boards.

  • Set up and maintain various electrical equipment such as motors, generators, and control panels, ensuring they operate efficiently and safely.

  • Diagnose electrical issues using diagnostic tools and equipment. Perform repairs and replacements as needed to ensure proper system functionality.

  • Replace outdated or faulty components and systems to enhance performance and meet current electrical codes and standards.

  • Use diagnostic tools such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and insulation resistance testers to identify and troubleshoot electrical faults.

  • Configure and test control panels for machinery, including setting up programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and variable frequency drives (VFDs).

  • Analyze system performance issues and implement corrective measures to restore proper operation.

  • Perform electrical tests to verify the integrity and functionality of systems, including continuity tests, insulation resistance tests, and voltage measurements.

  • Complete and submit detailed work orders, including descriptions of work performed, parts used, and any follow-up actions required.

  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs and service records for all electrical systems and equipment.

  • Prepare and deliver reports on system performance, maintenance activities, and any significant issues or recommendations.

  • Conduct inspections of electrical systems and equipment to identify potential issues. Perform routine and preventive maintenance to prevent system failures.

  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, including service reports, maintenance logs, and inventory of parts and materials used.

  • Work closely with other technicians, engineers, and departments to complete projects efficiently and effectively. Assist in training junior technicians as needed.

  • Preferably with experience in the control systems for water treatment units, compressors.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identifying opportunities for process improvements or equipment upgrades to enhance efficiency, reliability, and performance

  • Report to direct manager

  • Complies with all relevant safety, quality and environmental management policies, procedures, and controls to ensure a healthy and safe work environment.

6. TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:

  • Computer Skills : Possesses advanced skills in using job related applications, Office applications, and other relevant programs, as well as the advanced functions of the internet.

  • Cost estimation & Analysis: Prepares, justifies and/or estimates costs associated with initiatives/ projects to set priorities and track expenses.

  • English Language: Able to read and write fluently and accurately in all styles and forms of the language on any subject as well as those pertinent to professional needs

  • Maintenance Management: Develops new maintenance policies and procedures, effectively plans for major maintenance costs and formulates maintenance budget plans, and effectively identifies preventative maintenance requirements

Qualification & Experience:

  • Diploma in Electrical Maintenance or any related

  • Required years of experience (3-8 years in the manufacturing field, preferably in pharmaceuticals)
