Today, in Portugal, we have more than 1000 employees and 3 factories for the production of injectable medicines. 

 

Hikma, intends to recruit a Specialist, Buyer (m/f) for a hybrid position.

 

Main Responsibilities:

 

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key and strategic suppliers to ensure reliable supply and effective communication.
  • Execute the transactional requisition-to-pay process, e.g. Convert requisition to P.O. using appropriate contract if available. Monitor PO status and expected reception. Ensure reception of goods/services is traced, etc. in accordance with procedures.
  • Ensure timely delivery of purchased materials to maintain high internal customer service levels.
  • Solve problems related to orders with suppliers, internal customers and vendor price/quantity invoice issues when applicable. In case of late delivery or supply crisis by vendor, implement all necessary actions to solve the problems (organize emergency delivery, check stocks in plants, and in the process of being shipped, coordinate logistics means).
  • Maintain and update supplier databases, price lists, and documentation related to purchase orders in the appropriated softwarepp.
  • Participate in the development of purchasing plans with Supply Planning, ensuring cost‑effectiveness and optimal inventory levels.
  • Prepares and contributes for procurement analytics, including data cleansing, mapping, spend and savings reporting, and supplier onboarding.
  • Performs supplier performance monitoring and participate in supplier evaluations.
  • Drive strategic sourcing initiatives for attributable categories to achieve cost savings, productivity, and cash‑flow improvements.
  • Ensure adherence to procurement policies, SOPs, GMP, and financial controls
  • Support audit readiness and lead resolution of audit findings.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to management for continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with Supply Planning, Finance, Quality, and Operations to ensure smooth supply of raw materials, packaging, and equipment.
  • Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards to monitor procurement KPIs, supplier performance, and spend analytics and savings. Ensure data accuracy and integration between ERP systems and reporting tools. Identify opportunities to automate procurement workflows and reporting processes

 

Profile:

 

  • Degree qualified: Associate (Diploma) with 5+ years of experience or Bachelor’s with 2+ years
  • 2+ years’ experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain environments
  • Strong background in strategic sourcing, supplier management, and procurement analytics
  • Experience working in GMP or regulated environments (preferred)
  • Advanced Excel skills, including Power Query and pivot table automation
  • Proficient in Power BI: building dashboards, data models, and automated reporting
  • Experience integrating and analyzing data from ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Navision or similar)
  • Strong analytical mindset with ability to translate procurement data into actionable insights
  • Comfortable with digital tools and process automation initiatives
  • Excellent multitasking skills, with ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a continuous improvement mindset
  • Fluent in spoken and written English
  • Strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills, with a friendly and professional approach
  • Able to work independently as well as part of a team
